Dual Career pistol shooter Kristian Callaghan named in Team GB squad for Minsk 2019 European Games

21 May 2019

Team Bath Dual Career athlete Kristian Callaghan has been selected to represent Team GB at the Minsk 2019 European Games, taking place in Belarus from June 21-30.

The Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth bronze-medallist, who is studying a PhD Research Programme in Electronic and Electrical Engineering at the University of Bath, is one of two pistol shooters selected for the competition.

Team GB will be represented by 101 athletes across 11 sports at the second iteration of the European Games, the last senior multi-sport event prior to next summer’s Olympic Games in Tokyo.

The Games is also an important qualification step on the road to Tokyo 2020 for some sports, with direct qualification of quota places for three sports – archery, shooting and table tennis – and important ranking points for others.

Applications are now being taken for the 2019-20 Team Bath Dual Career Programme, which provides support for students also competing and training at a high level of sport. Click here for more information.
