British Bobsleigh finish pre-Olympic World Cup season with Overall bronze in both two-man and four-man competitions

Brad Hall steered British Bobsleigh to Overall ISBF World Cup bronze in both the two-man and four-man competitions as an excellent campaign concluded with more medal success in Lillehammer.
Fifth place in Saturday’s final two-man race for University of Bath-based Hall and Taylor Lawrence was enough to secure third place overall for the British driver, who was also pushed twice by Greg Cackett during the eight-race season.

Hall, Arran Gulliver, Lawrence and Leon Greenwood then won bronze in Sunday’s four-man finale to secure another overall third-place finish, only missing out on silver in the race and the final rankings by four-hundredths of a second.
GB, for whom Cackett also featured in three races, end the four-man with six medals from seven races, including two gold in Winterberg and St Moritz.
“We came into today wanting that overall silver but we can’t be too disappointed with bronze – it’s more proof that we are in a great place heading into next month’s World Championships and next year’s Olympics,” said Gulliver.
The double bronze continues a remarkable run of World Cup results for the British Bobsleigh and Skeleton Association (BBSA) as a whole after Corie Mapp won the Overall Para Bobsleigh title and Matt Weston won gold and Marcus Wyatt silver in the men’s skeleton.
The bobsleigh and skeleton crews are now returning to their University of Bath training base to continue their preparations for the big season finale – the IBSF World Championships in Lake Placid, USA from 6th-16th March.
The University of Bath is home to the UK’s only outdoor push-start training track and British Bobsleigh and Skeleton Association athletes also do their strength and conditioning work at the Team Bath Sports Training Village. Click here to find out more.
