Ten-time Paralympic medallist Stephanie Millward heading to fourth Games after being named in Tokyo 2020 swimming squad

University of Bath Hall of Fame for Sport inductee Stephanie Millward will be heading to her fourth Paralympic Games this summer after being selected in the ParalympicsGB squad for Tokyo 2020.

Millward, who trains at the Team Bath Sports Training Village, made her debut at Beijing 2008 before winning 10 medals while competing at the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Games, including double gold five years ago.

They are among the incredible 50 medals secured at major international championships during an illustrious career for Millward, whose outstanding achievements and contribution to the Team Bath sporting environment were recognised when she was welcomed into the University’s Hall of Fame for Sport in 2019.

Also selected for a fourth Paralympic Games in Tokyo is five-time gold-medallist Ellie Simmonds, who has an Honorary Degree from the University of Bath.

Millward is the fourth Bath-based sportsperson to be selected this week for the rescheduled Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, joining wheelchair fencers Dimitri Coutya, Piers Gilliver and Oliver Lam-Watson in the ParalympicsGB squad.

Twenty-four sportspeople who train at the University of Bath have now been selected for the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics, with a further six graduates also heading to the Games. Click here to see the full list.
