More Bath athletes set for World University Games

Gosiewski wins silver in Estonia

University of Bath student and judo player Jan Gosiewski has achieved the biggest win of his career to date by taking silver at the European Open in Estonia. Gosiewski, who is studying for an MSc in Design Engineering at the University after already graduating with a Mechanical Engineering degree, took silver in the under-73kg class in Tallinn on Saturday. Nartey dedicates medal to his late father

Team Bath judo player Emmanuel Nartey dedicated his first African Championships medal to the memory of his father, who died 10 years ago. Four Team Bath judo players have been selected for the British team to compete at this month’s European Championships. Judo players bring home four bronzes from Argentina

Team Bath judo players had another impressive weekend, collecting four medals at the Buenos Aires Pan-American Open in Argentina. Gregg Varey beat fellow Brit Graham Trinder in the third place contest to take bronze in the men’s under-60kg class. Team Bath judo player Ben Fletcher has secured the biggest win of his career to date by taking gold at the Pan-American Open in Uruguay. Nartey and Stanning collect Army awards

There was an impressive double for past and present University of Bath based athletes at the annual Army Sports Awards, with judo player Emmanuel Nartey and rower Heather Stanning winning two of the top awards.
