British Judo Champs double-medallist Amelia Alder is first Rengen Athlete of the Month Award winner of 2026

20 February 2026

Judoka Amelia Alder has been named as the first Team Bath Rengen Athlete of the Month Award winner of 2026.

The Biology student, who trains in the Sports Training Village dojo with Team Bath Judo, won -52kg silver at the British Judo Senior Championships just a day after bagging bronze in the Junior competition.

Those performances earned Alder, coached by Adam Hall, a place in both the British Junior (U21) and Senior national squads, as well as selection for England Judo’s EPP (England Performance Potential) programme.

Alder, who received the January award and a Built For Athletes backpack from Director of Sport Stephen Baddeley, is among the nearly 200 University of Bath student-athletes receiving bespoke support through the Student Performance Sport Breakthrough Programme during the 2025-26 academic year. Visit teambath.com/breakthrough-programme for more information.

Both the award and the Breakthrough Programme are supported by Team Bath partners Rengen, whose headquarters are based in Argyle Street in Bath city centre. They have extensive experience in the development of boutique purpose-built student accommodation, residential accommodation and commercial units.
