Team Bath netballers start 2013 with silverware

Team Bath’s netballers made a terrific start to 2013 by capturing their first silverware of the season, winning the Cathedral City Lighter FastNet Grand Prix for the first time. Rowing trio with University of Bath links receive New Year’s Honours following gold-medal glory at London 2012

Athletes with strong University of Bath links had their London 2012 successes recognised in the New Year’s Honours List, which was announced this morning (Saturday). Rowers Heather Stanning, Helen Glover and Dave Smith were made MBEs in the list. University of Bath staff and alumni joined friends and family in celebrating the life of Ivor Powell MBE at  a tribute event  at the Sports Training Village this afternoon (Tuesday). Ivor Powell MBE, a former Welsh international footballer and long-serving coach at the University of Bath, passed away last night at the age of 96 after a short illness.
