University of Bath graduates Amy Williams and Sam Weale have been named winners of the British Olympic Association Athlete of the Year awards for their respective sports. University of Bath-based Olympic Winter Games gold medallist, Amy Williams, has been shortlisted for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award. Viewers can vote for Amy by phone during the live BBC Show on Sunday evening, starting at 7pm. Mayor of Bath Councillor Shaun McGall has paid tribute to Bath-based athletes who competed at the Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games. The Mayor hosted a civic reception for athletes in the historic surroundings of the Mayor’s Parlour in the Guildhall.
