Rowing trio are honoured

Athletes with strong University of Bath links had their London 2012 successes recognised in the New Year’s Honours List, which was announced this morning (Saturday). Rowers Heather Stanning, Helen Glover and Dave Smith were made MBEs in the list. Stanning, a University of Bath Sports Technology graduate, and Glover, teamed up to win Britain’s first gold medal of the London 2012 Olympics and became the first ever GB women’s crew to win Olympic rowing gold....

New artwork provides added inspiration to athletes

A new piece of artwork is providing some extra inspiration for athletes training in the Performance Gym at the Sports Training Village. Artist Mark Crowther, founder and creative director of Soulful Creative, designed and painted the abstract piece on the wall of the gym, which is used by world-class athletes who train at the University.
