Triathlon
Triathlon is an eye-catching and growing sport in the UK. The number of participants “ both recreationally and competitively is on the increase and Team Bath is playing a part in that trend. Triathlon is a sport which can contribute to a healthy lifestyle as well as providing a spectacular sport at the Olympic Games.
In 1996 Team Bath provided the UK’s first High Performance Centre for triathlon, enabling triathletes to train full-time with all the required facilities and support services in one place. Despite many changes subsequent changes to the structure of elite triathlon delivery in the UK, Bath provides everything needed for triathlon performance within easy reach of the centre.
The Team Bath triathlon programme is predominantly focused around Olympic distance elite athletes but does cater for students at all levels from recreational to elite via the University Club.
Many of the athletes are taking the opportunity to combine study with a full-time / part time degree course or the Foundation Degree in Sports Performance, with their training to improve academically as well as athletically.
